Situation:

A low east of East Cape moves further away to the east today meanwhile a ridge moves east onto the country. A weak front moves east onto the lower South Island tonight, then weakens as it moves northeast over New Zealand while another ridge builds over the South Island. On Sunday, a ridge of high pressure covers most of the country, but a showery southerly flow lingers about the eastern North Island. On Monday, the ridge remains over central New Zealand, while showery flows affect the south of the South Island and east of the North Island. On Tuesday the ridge expands to cover the whole country.
